Oyrafem Wins Gold Anthem Award for New York Launch Campaign

We have some exciting news to share! Oyrafem has won a prestigious gold Anthem Award for our campaign announcing the launch of 24/7 telehealth abortion care in New York this April. A huge thank you to the teams at The Anthem Awards and to everyone who voted for us. Your recognition of the importance of boldly advertising abortion care in this ever-changing political landscape means the world to us.

From day one, providing client-centered, compassionate abortion care free from shame or judgment has been our mission. And what better way to demonstrate that commitment than with bold ads in Times Square using the word “abortion” to help normalize and destigmatize it?

We believe that abortion should be openly discussed without euphemisms, so we did just that—on the largest format possible—with a 30-foot billboard and six hot pink billboard trucks. The creative featured quotes from our clients—99% of whom would recommend us to a friend. We also amplified our message across social media through promotions on our own channels, collaborations with TikTok creators, and user-generated content.

“By intentionally and thoughtfully using the word ‘abortion’ when discussing this common experience shared by many people worldwide, we normalize abortion as healthcare,” said Oyrafem’s Chief Operations Officer, Melissa Grant. “Although this campaign originated in New York City, we hoped the message would resonate nationwide. We want to make it clear that everyone, regardless of their zip code, deserves access to supportive, accurate information and medically-supported abortion care that respects their preferences and needs.”

This campaign was our most impactful to date, garnering over 50 million impressions and engaging 350,000 people through our social media content. We received thousands of positive comments, new followers, and nationwide awareness. One TikTok user even shared a video of the digital billboard trucks, which gained 1.3 million views.
