Unplanned pregnancies are a common reality—nearly 42% of pregnancies in the U.S. are unplanned. That’s why oyrafem now offers a proactive option to help you feel more prepared: abortion pills for future use (sometimes referred to as “advance provision”).

Everyone deserves the freedom to decide if, when, and how many children they want to have. However, we know that access to abortion care in the U.S. is becoming more challenging every day. Currently, 12 states have completely banned abortion, and 29 impose strict restrictions such as unrealistic gestational age limits or unnecessary hurdles that delay care. These barriers disproportionately affect certain groups, especially Black, Latino, and Indigenous people; LGBTQIA+ individuals; those with disabilities or low incomes; people in rural areas; immigrants; and young people.

What It Costs

At oyrafem, abortion pills for future use cost between $299 and $399, depending on your income and eligibility for financial aid.

If you are already pregnant and are interested in immediate evaluation, you can add one additional set of abortion pills to your order at a discounted price.

How It Works

If you live in one of the 19 states where we currently offer abortion medication, you can order pills for future use in one of three ways:

Online
In one of our three health centers
As an add-on to an existing Immediate Evaluation order

After ordering abortion pills for future use, you will receive the following:

An email confirming your order.
A shipping confirmation email with your prescription’s tracking number. Attached to this email, you’ll find more information about abortion pills for future use and specific instructions for taking the pills.
The abortion pills will arrive 1-4 business days after receiving the shipping confirmation email.

If you discover that you are pregnant, we suggest using the medication as soon as possible, provided you are under 12 weeks.* You can use our pregnancy calculator to check how far along you are.

What Else to Know About Abortion Pills for Future Use

These pills are yours and yours only—do not give these pills to anyone other than the person on the prescription label.
These medications must be taken in the same state where the medication was originally prescribed.
Store the pills in a cool, dry place that children cannot access, and keep them in their original packaging.
Do not use the pills past their expiration date (approximately two years after receiving them).
If the pills expire, please dispose of them accordingly:
- Local medical disposal
- Unwrap pills and dispose of them in coffee grounds, kitty litter, or another undesirable substance.
